Digimon, short for "Digital Monsters", is a Japanese media franchise encompassing virtual pet toys, anime, manga, video games, films, and trading card game. Digimon creatures are monsters living in the digital world, a parallel universe that originated from Earth's various communication network. In many shows, the Digimon are raised by humans called "DigiDestined" or "Tamers" who are known as the chosen children and they all team up to defeat evil who are trying to take over both the digital world and Earth.

Known as the first season of the series seven kids named Tai, Sora, Matt, Izzy, Mimi, Joe, and T.K are at a summer camp getting to know each other a little better and suddenly it begins to snow in the middle of the summer. These children receive a small gadget that looks like a gaming device and are instantly transported through a portal and enter the "Digital World". They each befreind their personal Digimon and with a certain threat, they use the gadgets to help their digital partners digivolve into a stronger form.
Digimon Adventures Season 2 (2000-2001)
Years after Digimon Adventure Season 1, the Digital World is under attack by the Digimon Emperor who is enslaving Digimon with Dark Rings while building Control Spires that negate Digivolution. Control Spires appear across the Earth bringing hordes of rogue Digimon. A Digimon named BlackWarGreymon is created to do anything to be the strongest Digimon and will do anything to get there. Three new DigiDestined named Davis, Yolei, and Cody along with a teenaged T.K and Kairi. Each possess a new type of gadget known as D3 that allows them to open a gate to be transported to the Digital World through a computer.
Digimon Tamers (2001-2002)
One day a boy named Takato creates his own Digimon named Guilmon when he slips a mysterious blue card he found in his deck through his hand-held card reading device changing it into a D-Power, the tamers version of a Digivice. In his attempts to hide his new friend, Takato meets other Tamers, Henry/ Terriermon and Rika/Renamon. Together they stop the Digimon from taking over both the Digital World and Earth.
Digimon Frontier (2002-2003)
New six DigiDestined find their respective Human Spirits, the gods of Digimon, and merge with them to "Spirit Evolve" into Digimon themselves. However as they find more spirits to become more powerful, they find themselves hunted by other Digimon Spirits. They all fight over each other spirits to be the most powerful Digimon in order to either save or take over the Digital World.
Digimon Data Squad (2006-2008)
A fourteen year old boy, Marcus Damon, an undefeated street fighter meets Agumon, Tai first partner, who has escaped from the Digital Accident Tactics Squad. After fighting each, the two become friends and are inducted into the secret government organization.
Digimon Fusion (2010-)
Mikey Kudo is a seventh grade boy with a need to help others. He hears a mysterious voice and finds a dying Digimon named Shoutmon in a nearby alley. Mikey's desire to help him causes a mysterious legendary Digivice called the Fusion Loader to appear in front of him and drags him and his friends Angie Hinomoto and Jeremy Tsurgi into the Digital World.
Digimon Universe: Appli Monsters (2016-)
In the year 2045, technology has evolved to a degree of prosperity for the world and the World Wide Web has become a world for Appmons, artificially intelligent beings born within mobile apps. One day, Haru Shinkai discovers an Appmon lurking in his smartphone which reveals himself to be Gatchmon and they become partners to stop Leviathan from spreading viruses turning Appmons evil.
